The Christian Catholic Church of Parma, like other Christian churches in the city, confesses the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the Scriptures and for this reason seeks to fulfil the common vocation to the glory of God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It shares with other churches the monotheistic faith, starting from the common Jewish roots according to the Hebrew-Christian Holy Scriptures. The Catholic communities in Parma, as in the rest of Italy, are communities of disciples who have received the announcement of Jesus, in whom they perceive the revelation of God's merciful love and who feel called to walk in this way, deeply renewed by the gift of His Spirit, to be a testimony in every place or life situation, in faithfulness –  though not always easy – to the double commandment of love for God and for one's neighbour.
